BRATTLEBORO
DAWN DANCES

Frequently Asked Questions
about Tickets

How much are the tickets?
Ticket prices for 2011 are $10 for 2:30 to 5:30pm english session, $20 for the 8pm to 7am contra, and $25 for both. For seniors/students the prices are english $7, contra $15, both $22. The money from ticket sales after expenses is divided between the performers.

Should I get tickets before the dance?
Yes.

Town fire regulations limit the number of dancers in the hall to 400. Once we sell that many tickets, we will not sell more at the door until some people leave.

Last year all the dances sold out. Most of the recent dances have been nearly full. Sometimes everyone gets in, while sometimes a few dozen people wait until after midnight until the crowd thins out.

The Memorial Day 2010 DawnDance sold out before its 8pm starting time, even though the Labor Day dances are typically more popular.

The bottom line is that if you do not purchase a ticket before the dance, then it is possible that the hall will be full when you arrive.

Where can I get tickets?
You can reserve advance tickets with a credit card using our online PayPal system. You do not need to be a member of PayPal; you just need a credit card and internet access. Your tickets will be held at the door.

We no longer reserve tickets by US mail, or at Maple Leaf Music

If you have a problem getting tickets through the online system, ask a dance friend to get them online for you, or contact the dawndance committee directly. How old do I have to be to get the Senior discount?
Our policy is that if you think you're a senior citizen, then you are. We typically treat student discounts the same way. So far this system hasn't been abused.

Can I buy tickets over the phone?
Nope.

Can you send me my tickets in the mail?
Nope. Advance sale tickets bought online or by check will be held at the door under your name.

How does this online ticket thing work?
Pretty well usually. :) Choose which tickets you want with this form, then use the PayPal dialog that comes up to pay for your tickets with a credit card. We will hold your tickets at the door. You will get a confirmation of your ticket purchase by email. To avoid confusion at the door, you may print out your email confirmation and bring it with you as a proof of purchase. (Please don't buy senior or student discount tickets unless the person you're buying them for actually is a student or a senior citizen.)

Why are you using PayPal?
It been easy for us to set up, fairly simple to use, and has worked fairly well for us for a number of years now.

Can I volunteer instead of buying a ticket?
We do need volunteers for shoe police, sweeping, clean up, and so on. Compensation varies. See our volunteering page for more details.
